Spring is upon us, and for me, that means everyone’s back in the fields from sun up to sun down working hard to get the grounds ready for another growing season.
I live on a grain and vegetable farm where the days are long and the work never ends, especially this time of year. We have one goal in mind — providing the freshest foods for our buyers.
So today, as I consider marketing my business (and perhaps yours!), my mind wandered back to the field and that overall goal of keeping it ”fresh.” When marketing your business with public relations and communications ideas, keep in mind that the media and your prospective customers don’t want news that isn’t “fresh.” Follow these three steps to keep your communications new and innovative:
- Focus your communications on an event or topic that is timely and current, something that is relevant to your target audience.
- Keep your message brief and to the point to avoid losing your reader’s attention.
- Brainstorm a creative communications angle, something that will immediately capture and keep your audience’s interest from the title all the way through to the last sentence
If you do these things, you will have planted the seed for a communications strategy that is sure to be fruitful. Now go do what you do, only better than before. Or call us, and we’ll help you get started.
