Divide and Conquer: The Art of Delegating

It’s that time of year – time for our company year-end reports, time for shopping and wrapping, time for the family to visit our house for Christmas dinner. I was looking around the house this morning wondering how it will all get done in less than a week. Then, it popped into my head – “divide and conquer.

Our TSN team recently faced this same challenge with a large project for one of our clients—a report that would stand out from the crowd. The project contained a lengthy questionnaire with little “wow” factor. The task truly seemed monumental until our team sat down at the virtual conference table and began to divide and conquer.
The art of delegating may be daunting at first, but it is so worth it in the end. We recognized that by working collectively as a team, all of our strengths shined in a way we never imagined and an amazing product was created. More importantly, we met a tight deadline with less stress and a bolstered cohesiveness within the organization.
Delegating looks different to every company, and for yours it might mean partnering with a communications/marketing firm to accomplish those projects that seem overwhelming – especially at this time of year. No matter how large or small the project, the TSN team has the capabilities and skillset to move mountains off of your desk. So, stress less in 2012 – divide and conquer.
Now go do what you do, even better than before.
